Why do we need to grow? The simple truth is, if we do not expand and grow our facilities, we will not be able to adequately meet the needs of an ever-increasing number of children in Greenville County. In spite of our success over the past six decades, we face real challenges. Our resources and facilities are no longer sufficient. But you can help change that. You can be the difference maker. By ensuring that more children with special needs in the Upstate reach their potential, you make it possible for them to grow—and contribute to the community that gave them hope.

Building for the Future

REPAIR: After more than 60 years of use, the wear and tear on our facility is evident. We need critical repairs and improvements that must be made to increase the efficiency of systems and reduce maintenance costs.

RENOVATE: There is a need to renovate important aspects of our building, both internally and externally. From bathrooms to wiring to lighting, these upgrades will help us comply with strict laws and regulations to keep our children and staff safe.

EXPAND: To stay in our current building and meet the demands of more children with special needs, we are expanding to create:

Community space
Indoor gym/Cafeteria
Full-service kitchen
Meeting rooms
Therapy
Sensory Therapy

Cost of Growth: $6 Million

If we don’t act now and raise these necessary funds, the Meyer Center will be unable to serve new children in need or even adequately serve our current students. Additionally, it will limit our ability to increase our charter student population to 100 in accordance with our new State Charter. The $6 million raised will be invested so 1) our facility is expanded and renovated, 2) classrooms and technology advanced, and 3) an endowment to underpin the long-term sustainability of the Meyer Center and its programs is funded.
