The MC Open Golf Tournament We are excited to bring back this premier golf tournament! The event will take place on Monday, October 25, 2010 at Holly Tree Country Club in Simpsonville. Participants will enjoy a golf clinic at 10:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m., and 19 holes of golf. The player fee of $350 includes a mulligan package (two mulligans, one red tee and the 19th hole). After golf, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a helicopter ball drop! Hole sponsorship for the tournament is available at $500 and includes two tickets to the Pairings Party hosted by Stax Grill on Sunday, October 24. The party will feature live entertainment by Cafe and Then Some, and a delicious buffet by Stax. Additional levels of sponsorship are Birdie Sponsor, at $2500, which includes four player spots and eight tickets to the Pairings Party; and Eagle Sponsor at $5,000, which includes eight player spots and sixteen tickets to the Pairings Party, as well as a hole sign. Tournament proceeds provide vital funding for the Meyer Center program of early childhood education and intensive speech, physical and occupational therapy for children with disabilities ages 0-6. 2010 Ladies Holiday Luncheon - Holiday Fun for a Great Cause! Now in its 11th year, the Ladies Holiday Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, December 1 from 10 am to 1:30pm at Carolina First Center. More than 1,000 women are expected to attend. The centerpiece of the luncheon is a 300+ item silent and live auction providing guests the opportunity to do their Christmas shopping while benefiting children with disabilities. The very-popular chef auction will be reprised this year, with more than a dozen top Upstate chefs participating in the "Chef Auction," offering the opportunity to have a chef prepare dinner for up to eight guests in the buyers' home. The luncheon will feature live entertainment as well. Your help is needed to make this vital fundraiser a success! Please consider participation through the purchase of a table for ten, sponsorship of the event, or donation of services or an item for the silent auction. Event proceeds support the Center's early childhood education and therapy program for preschool children with physical disabilities. Volunteer OpportunitiesVolunteer opportunities at the Center are open to individuals 16 years of age and above. Volunteers must be age 16 and above and must submit paperwork including a physical examination signed by their physician, complete a statement of physical health, have a TB test (or have had one within the past year) and undergo a background check.
