BI-LO Charity Classic

At a time when many businesses and individuals are having to tighten their belts, the 26th annual BI-LO Charity Classic Golf Tournament, which was held June 6-8, 2009 in Greenville raised a total of $4,290,309 through in-store fundraising and donations from suppliers, BI-LO teammates and customers.  The event included volunteers from many Upstate nonprofit organizations, including the Meyer Center.

We are extremely pleased to be a part of this this important fundraiser which has provided vital support to the Meyer Center since 1997.  Awards totaling more than $336,000 have funded general operations, expansion of therapy services, purchase of a mini-bus, and support of the Center’s transportation program, which serves more than 70% of our students.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have been able to raise this much money even during such challenging economic times, and we are so very thankful to our tournament sponsors and all the BI-LO teammates and shoppers who contributed to the great success of the Charity Classic this year,” said Executive Director of BI-LO Charities Carol Browning.

Thank you, BI-LO, for your generous support of the Meyer Center program for children with disabilities.
