
Ladies' Holiday Luncheon: Wednesday, December 1, 2010, 10am-1:30pm, Carolina First Center The kick-off event for the holiday season in the Upstate, and a vital fundraiser for the Meyer Center, the 11th Annual Ladies' Holiday Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, December 1, from 10am to 1:30 pm. More than 1,000 women from Upstate South Carolina are expected to attend the luncheon, which benefits the Meyer Center's program of education and therapy for children with disabilities. Along with Irish coffee and mimosas, a delicious luncheon, and live entertainment, the event will feature a silent and live auction of more than 300 items, as well as our second annual "Chef Auction," with more than a dozen chefs from some of the Upstate's top restaurants, who will prepare dinner for up to eight guests in the purchaser's home. The Meyer Center "Kids Classic" Golf Tournament It's More than Another Day on the Greens - It's Your Opportunity to Change the Life of a Child with Disabilities Two hundred golfers with the biggest hearts in the Upstate participated in the Meyer Center’s 22nd Annual Golf Tournament, held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Green Valley Country Club and Furman University. Thanks to all who were a part of this vital fundraiser, helping to change the lives of our community's special-needs children. Sponsors and players enjoyed a great pre-tournament party at the Wyche Pavilion on Tuesday evening, May 4, hosted by Larkin’s on the River. Live entertainment by top Upstate band, Hitmob7, great food and a live and silent auction highlighted this fun party. The Meyer Center, founded in 1954, is a DSS-licensed childcare agency, Medicaid rehabilitation facility and S.C. Charter School. More than 175 children received services in 2009. BI-LO Charity Classic Recognized as the largest single-day charity tournament in the U.S., The BI-LO Charity Classic has raised more than $48 million for charity over the last 26 years. BI-LO Charities has announced that the 2010 tournament raised a total of $4,515,236 to aid non-profit organizations across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee that contribute to children’s needs, education and hunger relief. The Meyer Center is extremely pleased to be a part of this this important fundraiser which has provided vital support to the Center since 1997.
